CHURCH LEADERSHIP

We Aim to be Servant Leaders

Our goal as a leadership team is to submit ourselves to the authority of scripture and use our God-given talents for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

MINISTRY TEAM LEADERS

We Don't Do This Alone

Tanner Hogue

Lead Pastor

Tanner serves Port City primarily through preaching and teaching, casting vision, and leading the Pastoral team. Tanner started following Jesus his freshmen year at NC State and he also met his wife, Samantha, there. Tanner and Sam now have 3 children: Maverick, Eden, and Piper. Before sensing the Lord leading him towards pastoral ministry, Tanner was a high school math teacher. In his free time you can find Tanner reading, watching or playing basketball, hanging out with his family, and going for walks around Norfolk.

Ronald Redmond

Pastor

Ron serves Port City as a lay elder. He began following Jesus during his freshmen year at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he also met his wife, Anali. Ron and Anali now have five children: Ilana, Josiah, Karina, Lydia, and Mason. He currently serves as the 6th Grade Dean of Students at Blair Middle School. Ron enjoys spending time with his family and playing sports, including basketball, tennis, and pickleball.

Will Thrasher

Pastor

Will serves Port City as a lay elder. Will grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn’t until high school that God grabbed ahold of his heart, leading him to Liberty University where he met his wife, Lauren. Will and Lauren have four children: Olivia, Bella, D’Nova, and Prince. In his free time, you’ll find Will enjoying walks through Norfolk, drinking good coffee, playing with his kids, or cheering on Alabama during his favorite season – college football in the fall.

Jon Sheets

Pastor

Jon serves Port City as an elder. God saved him as a little boy through many conversations with his mom. After going to art school, he served in the college ministry CRU, where he met his wife Katelyn. They now have two kids: Rhodes and Ray. In his free time, you’ll find Jon running through Norfolk, hanging out at coffee shops, doing art projects with his kids, or reading a good book.

Kevin Moore

Elder

Kevin serves as a lay elder at Port City. He came to saving faith in Christ at the age of nine and experienced deeper spiritual growth through the local church after marrying his wife, Megan. They recently celebrated twenty years of marriage and are blessed with four wonderful children – Joey, Eli, Emma, and Hannah. In his free time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his kids, cheering them on at their events, or relaxing on the front porch with friends and family. He drinks more coffee than he probably should and firmly believes baseball is the greatest sport of all.
