PORT CITY KIDS
Bring the whole family
Jesus loves kids and so do we! We are committed to empowering parents as the primary disciple-makers of their kids. On Sundays we have classes for all ages through 5th grade where our kids get the chance to have some fun and hear a Christ-centered lesson.
EQUIP
Practical training in biblical truth
Equip is a space for theological training in an interactive, classroom-style environment. It’s where we dig into biblical truths and explore how they shape everyday life—from marriage and spiritual disciplines to questions like, “Does my work matter if I’m not sharing the gospel?” Equip is practical, hands-on, and designed to help you walk more intentionally with Jesus. It’s also a great way to meet others at Port City and get connected. If you attend our gatherings, we invite you to take the next step and join us for Equip.
PRAYER GROUPS
Practicing prayer together
At Port City we like to say, “Class time is practice time,” and in our prayer groups, we practice prayer. We gather to read a psalm, sing, pray for our city and friends, and share personal needs. It’s not about performance, but participation. This is a space to bear one another’s burdens and seek God’s power together as we live on mission.
PORT CITY STUDENTS
For your teens
The data shows that middle-schoolers and high-schoolers need voices speaking into their life outside of their parents. That’s why we are committed to mentoring our students. Our mentors are trained to pursue our students with the gospel and are committed to walking with them through life. We have several former Student Pastors at Port City. We are committed to discipling our students and giving them times to have fun and be themselves.
PORT CITY COLLEGE
Discipling and sending
Our college ministry serves students from ODU, NSU, Regent, and TCC through regular gatherings focused on biblical learning, community, and mission. College is a critical discipleship window where spiritual foundations impact students’ entire adult lives. We integrate college students into church life while training them in disciple making and healthy church membership. The goal: send graduates who are equipped, committed, and ready to lead wherever God takes them.
STARTING POINT
Join our family
Starting Point is how someone goes from being “at” Port City to being a part “of” Port City. During this time, we break down who we are as a church, our mission, vision, values, beliefs, and strategy to see God make disciples who make disciples. We firmly believe that we are a church for anybody, but not the church for everybody. This is our time to be clear, and your time to ask questions. Coming out of Starting Point, there are clear next steps to continue to get to know our church, or to pursue membership if you are ready to rock and roll with us.
More Ministries to Explore
There are more opportunities to get involved and serve at Port City. Join us on a Sunday morning and come by the "New Here" table. There are friendly folks there who would welcome the opportunity to tell you more!
